Rauris, in Austria, is a medium sized ski resort with 8 ski lifts (2 gondolas, 1 chair lift and 5 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 1261 metres (4137 feet) of vertical descent. Rauris has 13 pistes with a total length of 20 kilometers. Rauris is only really suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. There are 30 kilometers (19 miles) of cross country ski trails at Rauris. A small proportion of the pistes at Rauris are covered by snowmaking. The closest airport is at Salzburg and the transfer time is only 1 hours. The nearest train station to Rauris is at Taxenbach.
