Grachen (or Grächen) in Switzerland is a large resort with 14 lifts (4 chair lifts, 8 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 1270 metres (4168 feet) of vertical descent. Grachen (or Grächen) has 18 pistes. Grachen is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for beginners and advanced skiers. There are 16 kilometers (10 miles) of cross country ski trails at Grächen. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half pipe. The nearest airport is at Zurich and the nearest train station to Grachen is at St Niklaus. There is accommodation located close to the pistes but we would welcome additional information about any hotels or chalets in Grachen.

We have an apartment in Grachen and love the place. However, I wish they would make the pistes larger. There are to many people skiing on to small a area and this makes it to crowded. Think about it. It would be a much better ski area with larger pistes.
