Whitefish Mountain Resort at Big Mountain, in the United States (Montana State), is a medium sized ski resort with 10 ski lifts (8 chair lifts, 2 surface lifts) that offers skiers an impressive 762 metres (2500 feet) of vertical descent. Whitefish Mountain Resort has 3000 acres of terrain over 81 trails. It is best suited for intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is a also a lot of terrain for beginners and experts too. There are 15 kilometers (9 miles) of cross country ski trails at Whitefish Mountain Resort. A small proportion of the trails at Whitefish Mountain Resort are covered by snow-making. The closest airport is at Glacier International and the transfer time is only 0.5 hours. The nearest train station is Whitefish. There is accommodation located close to the pistes but we would welcome additional information about any hotels or chalets at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Lifts were out of order for quite some time both days we were here. Resort needs an update; generally shabby though staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
